BP and Gov't Friends

Facing possible jail time, British Petroleum and their bed mates, Halliburton, are hiring high-powered law firms with ties to the Department of Justice and the White House. However, both BP and Halliburton are using other means to defend themselves.

Halliburton’s campaign conributions have sky-rocketed to certain members of Congress since the disaster in the Gulf. In May, Halliburton donated $17,000 which made it the most they have donated since September of 2008. Now get this….13 of the 14 Congressmen receiving them were REPUBLICANS and seven went to those who are on committees with oversight of the disaster.

Crimes of Big Oil and Gov't

Evidently, through the years, the Oil companies and the Minerals Management Office that was to review and issue drilling permits for off shore drilling slept in the same bed. There are reports that Oil companies such as British Petroleum and Exxon threw lavish parties of all kinds, including sex parties for the MMO staff and supervisors.

Also, when it came to issuing permits and detailing the ways it was going to be done, oil company executives would fill in all of the required items in pencil as if THEY were MMO staff and then give the paperwork back to the Office where MMO would copy it in ink and then sign off on the permit.

Funeral Protests

It is absolutely sickening how the extremist “Christian” Westboro Baptist Church travels around the country tormenting the mourners of those servicemen who are killed. They holler and scream, do everything they can to disrupt the funeral service, hold up derogatory signs such as “Semper Fi Fags” and “Thank God for Dead Soldiers”.

Like many in this country, I was not a supporter of King George when he attacked Iraq. However, it is totally outrageous that these individuals would disrespect those brave men and women for obeying orders. The problem is NOT the military…the problem lies in Washington D.C. with their misguided concepts and beliefs.

Freedom from Religion

Looks like a Federal Judge in Wisconsin, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb, has ruled that the government sponsored “National Day of Prayer” is unconstitutional.And boy, does this have the right-wing religious extremists upset!

In the super religious south, better know as the “Bible Belt”…you could hear the wailing of the “offended” Christians. One was quoted as saying, “forgive us Lord Jesus” and then stating that “It’s time for the body of Christ to wake up, and for Jews and Hindus and Muslims…to wake up and defend their religious freedoms!

Freedom Fight for Christians?

We all knew this was going to come at some point in the future. Arizona passed a law to enforce Federal laws! It is against the law to be in Arizona illegally. If you are an illegal “day laborer”…you will be arrested for soliciting for work.

Arizona has over 450,000 illegals…and the drain on the American taxpayer is outrageous! The get free medical, are able to get drivers licenses, and their offspring are granted full rights as U.S. citizens. Which means they are able to receive Food stamps, accommodations and money for transportation.

Land of Equal Rights?
